THIS TRAINING IS MANDATORY AND OCCURS IN TWO PARTS. PART 1 WILL BE SENT TO YOU BY AUGUST 1, 2022.
As a member of the Class of 2026, you are required to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU), an online, science-based course, before you arrive on campus. SAPU provides detailed information about the importance of values and the aspects of healthy and unhealthy relationships. The training also discusses decisions regarding sexual activity and sexual assault. Whether you plan to engage in sexual activity or not, the goals of the course are to help you make well-informed decisions about consent, relationships and address the behavior of your peers.
The SAPU course has a Part 1 and a Part 2. The course takes 60 minutes to complete. You will need to have Part 1 completed by August 12. Approximately two weeks after completing the exams to Part 1 of SAPU, you will be notified to complete Part 2 by September 9. You will not satisfy the university requirement to complete SAPU until you have completed the exam at the end of Part 2. In August you will receive detailed instructions via email and a reminder on MyDuke about beginning SAPU.
