THIS TRAINING IS MANDATORY AND OCCURS IN TWO PARTS. PART 1 WILL BE SENT TO YOU BY JULY 12, 2021.
As a new member of the Duke community, you are required to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU), an online, science-based course, before you arrive on campus. SAPU provides detailed information about the importance of values and the aspects of healthy and unhealthy relationships. The training also discusses decisions regarding sexual activity and sexual assault. Whether you plan to engage in sexual activity or not, the goals of the course are to help you make well-informed decisions about consent, relationships and address the behavior of your peers.
The SAPU course has a Part 1 and a Part 2. The course takes 60 minutes to complete. Part 1 will be sent to students on July 12, 2021 and must be completed by August 26, 2021. Part 2 will be sent to students August 27, 2021 and must be completed by October 11, 2021. You will not satisfy the university requirement to complete SAPU until you have completed the exam at the end of Part 2. Later this summer, you will receive detailed instructions via email and a reminder on MyDuke about beginning SAPU.
